01 — Overview

About the Role

Our client is looking for a full-stack engineer with 3–10 years of experience shipping production-grade software who thrives at the intersection of engineering, product thinking, and client engagement. You should be comfortable navigating ambiguity, working directly with healthcare executives, and owning outcomes end-to-end — from architecting scalable solutions to deploying them in complex enterprise environments. Bonus points for prior FDE experience (especially in healthcare), a non-traditional background that demonstrates grit, or entrepreneurial ventures that show initiative and ownership.

02 — Responsibilities

What will you be doing?

  • Serve as the acting technical lead on high-impact healthcare AI deployments, paired with another FDE, architecting and shipping production solutions used by thousands of clinicians
  • Take ownership of activated revenue outcomes — accelerating contract timelines, identifying expansion opportunities, and driving products from 0→1→10→100
  • Work directly with executives at billion-dollar health systems as a “field CTO,” translating unstructured clinical and business problems into technical products
  • Build full-stack applications (Python/FastAPI backend, React frontend) that integrate with EHR systems and process messy, non-standard healthcare data
  • Rotate through engineering pods to gain platform-wide context, then lead deployments in specific customer segments or problem spaces
  • Integrate field learnings back into core product — ensuring solutions built for individual clients become scalable platform capabilities rather than isolated one-offs
  • Travel up to 35% domestically to client sites for 1–2 day on-site visits during active deployment phases, building product intuition and stakeholder relationships

Why this role

Highlights

01

The FDE team operates as a “special forces” unit, reporting directly to the President and CEO and deployed on the company’s most intensive problems at the frontier of healthcare AI.

02

You are measured on outcomes, not tickets. FDEs own board-level results with full autonomy on how to get there, rather than sprint velocity or query optimization.

03

Rotational exposure across engineering pods gives you platform-wide context before you are deployed on a specific customer problem or sector.

04

The team is built to produce founders and engineering leaders. Roughly 20% of your time is client-facing, working directly with executives at major health systems instead of through layers of process.

What we need

Key Requirements

  • 3–10 years shipping production-grade software, with forward-deployed or client-facing full-stack engineering experience
  • Strong full-stack depth: Python (FastAPI) on the backend, React on the front end, with working exposure to Go and AI/ML platforms
  • Experience architecting and deploying solutions in complex enterprise environments, including messy, non-standard data and third-party system integrations
  • Executive presence — comfortable translating unstructured clinical and business problems into technical products in the room with senior stakeholders
  • Grit, intellectual curiosity, and service orientation. Non-traditional backgrounds, teaching experience, and self-directed learning are common among top performers on this team
  • Willing to travel up to 35% domestically for 1–2 day client site visits during active deployment phases
